There is a terrifying map of North America showing the drought conditions across three countries. Spring is just beginning. Meanwhile, Russia is flooding and huge dust clouds are blowing from the Sahara into Europe. I dread the coming of summer.

The situation seems dreadful, Nancy. Wishing you well, despite it all.

I've added Guy’s latest analysis to my blog post titled; Cascading Consequences of the Loss of Arctic Sea Ice, which has a great video on Albedo or reflectivity of the ice, it contains this quote;

“Losing the remaining Arctic sea ice and its ability to reflect incoming solar energy back to space would be equivalent to adding one trillion tons of CO2 to the atmosphere, on top of the 2.4 trillion tons emitted since the Industrial Age, according to current and former researchers from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California San Diego.”

“At current rates, this roughly equates to 25 years of global CO2 emissions.”

I note that the paper Guy quotes conveys little to no urgency which I find bizarre yet predictable considering the corruption of science, when it's oriented to and around capitalism!

Thank you for your informed comment, Kevin, and also for restacking my post.

“I note that the paper Guy quotes conveys little to no urgency which I find bizarre yet predictable …” Apparently, a sense of urgency is not allowed in the community of paid climate scientists, media personalities, and government officials.

One final comment seems warranted: ARGH!

I'm going to drop this here for the fun of it.

Michael Mann has just said that the 1.5C Rubicon is not lost!!! and we can halt global warming. It would make Orwell blush.

He has become a complete parody but in reality, he always has been since he lost sight of his own "Hockey tick Theory".

This planet gets more dystopian by the hour!

I couldn’t agree more, Grant. I failed to “fit in” during my 21 years on various college campuses because I was—and am—a generalist. Yet another issue over which I have no control.
