Draft script: Every day, I see indications that if we start right now, we can solve the climate crisis. This opinion indicates the climate crisis is a problem to be solved, rather than a predicament with no solution. This short video addresses how we can positively approach the climate predicament without having the ability to solve it.
Excellent and uplifting essay, thank you. I hope to move to the place I feel most alive within the next couple of years - sooner possible. Thanks again for all you do.
In 1989 the UN published an article stating that we had a 10-year window of 'opportunity' to avoid dangerous climate change, we have more than doubled our emissions since then and the UN is still saying much the same thing. I believe they knew it was already too late after Carl Sagan and Dr James E Hansen both spoke to congress on the subject in the 1980's.
The juggernaut of Industrial capitalism ensured that emissions would not just grow but accelerate.
Last century it was common for us, when discussing the future, to speak about the issue of "Tipping Points" or "Feedback Loops", now that we have crossed at least 60 of them, the large NGO's and the UN have dropped the subject.
Because Guy mentioned the issue of where the bulk of our food comes from, I've added this video to my blog post titled: "On the Verge of Starvation," which features a previous video discussion from Guy on the issue with multiple embedded links showing how tenuous our food supply has already become.
On that note have a wonderful day everyone, carpe diem, seize the day.
If the UN didn’t know we were baked, broiled, done in the early 1980s, then the UN wasn’t paying attention. Now, however, they’ve managed to lull into sleep nearly everyone.
Thank you for your comment, Kevin, informed as always. You’re the master of seizing and squeezing the moments of every day.
Thank you for the excellent advise on what a person can do in this hidous situation we find ourselves in. Only fear and hubris will prevent people from finding comfort in your words.

Thank you for your positive comment, Mez. Best wishes with your upcoming move. 🌹👌🏻

Thank you for your positive comment, Craig. As you know, unfortunately, there is plenty of fear and hubris out there.
