Guy and I often speak about losing a city or region to a climate catastrophe, like a wet bulb event, loss of civil services in a large city or region, could trigger a tipping point in the confidence game known as "Industrial Civilisation".
This article shows how tenuous life has become in Johannesburg.
There is a great audio option with this tragic article.
Thank you for sharing, Kevin. Johannesburg is a major city. It will not take many such events to finally capture the attention of people throughout the world.
"For months, the Amazon region has been suffering from an extreme drought. Water in the rivers and lakes is lower than it has ever been, and many have dried up completely. The unusual heat has also led to a rapid rise in water temperatures. Lago de Tefé is normally between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius, but in late September, the water heated up to 40 degrees (104 degrees Fahrenheit). "Fresh water dolphins can stand temperatures of up to 38 degrees," says Marmontel. In contrast to humans, dolphins are not able to regulate their body temperatures through sweating. "They died of overheating."
Guy will laugh at the sentence in the article above the quote, the cognitive dissonance is amazing!
Dolphins being cooked alive in the Amazon, 10% of the gene pool wiped out in one event.
"‘We Are Afraid’: Scientists Issue New Warning As World Enters ‘Uncharted Climate Territory’'
Guy and I have endeavoured to point out both Scientific reticence and lies.
As we circle the drain of collapse and extinction the corporate media pretend to cover the multiple crises we face whilst at the same time concealing the real rate of change.
Of course, they will control the narrative as long as it's profitable and possible.
When these “scientists” refer to up to six billion people’s lives being threatened, they obviously are delusional. Surely they mean all life on Earth. How could it be any other way, considering the loss of aerosol masking and the meltdown of nuclear facilities leading to the loss of stratospheric ozone?!?
Guy and I often quote President Niinistö of Finland on his contention, quote "‘If We Lose the Arctic, We Lose the World’. It's just occurred to me that we haven't brought that detail to Substack. I've now rectified that.
President Niinistö in North Russia: ‘If We Lose the Arctic, We Lose the World’
For a decade now Guy and I have collaborated on this project. It's been incredibly brutal for me personally and much worse for Guy, for obvious reasons, yet I don't regret it for a nano-second.
Guy's honesty liberated me for "Grinding the Living Planet into Dust" and opened my eyes to what we are losing.
I appreciate my life, more than ever before. I'll never be able to repay my gratitude.
There are a few more embedded links in my post on the discussion and additional observations from "Yours Truly".

Having to come up with an expanded scale to cover the damage, that old expanding Y axis.
We referenced "Hot Tub" temperatures off the coast of Florida, this is what it cooked.
"Coral bleaching is now so extreme, scientists had to expand their scale for it".

The horrors never end ... until they do, when Earth becomes lifeless 😢
During our discussion I incorrectly mentioned that we are dumping 7 Hiroshima size bombs of heat into the atmosphere every second, I stand corrected.
The correct number is an easy to remember 13.33!
As always, our predicament is much worse than we knew of yesterday!

Thanks for the correction, Kevin ... I think. You are absolutely right about the gravity of the situation and how it worsens every day. Sigh.
This is going to cheer you up no end mate :)

Who would have thought TEPCO wouldn’t lie to us? TEPCO is a money-making machine, after all.
