Yeah, that’s a common sentiment from people when I let slip the fact that we are in a self created mass extinction event. “The planet will be fine”. I hope so, but there’s plenty of evidence to the contrary. I guess the planet manufactured the air and water in the beginning, maybe it could happen again if those life giving entities disappear. But like you say, we will never know, unless we get a glimpse from a safe distance up on a cloud in the afterlife. Wait, clouds might be a thing of the past at that point…
Thank you for your informed comment, Mr. Fontaine. I’ll be wishing, hoping, and praying all the way to the Biodiversity Bank. And I’m an atheist who thinks hope is a mirage!
Considering Guy has expanded Elizabeth Keubler Ross's five stages of grief to include a sixth of "Gallows Humour" I'm not surprised we've reached this 'Cul de Sac '.
George Carlin had a 'deadpan', pardon the pun' delivery style.
On our speaking tours together Guy and I tried to inject some levity into the discourse.
Sometimes it worked, sometimes it was triggering, for some people!
It's going to get harder and harder to have a laugh let's grab it while we can!
Just hearing Guy's pronunciation of Te Reo Māori indicate we need to bring him back to Aotearoa NZ for some schooling! Another project for me to work on, anyone willing to help make it happen let me know!
Dead ends everywhere! Thank you for your informed comment, Grant. I’ll be pleased if even a few, small species squeeze through the bottleneck we are creating. Not that I’ll know, of course. 😢

You Kiwis pronounce everything differently than I do! Not that I’m blaming Kiwis, you understand.
I need another trip to NZ, if only to improve my pronunciation! I’ll put in an invoice to Senior Management and wish for the best.
As always, Kevin, thank you for your relevant comment. Thanks, too, for restacking my post.
Haha you do that! See you at the airport :)
