Even as a lay person, I could see the madness of these Sankey charts (my new favorite chart by the way); the question is, how did you two make it so ("frackin") entertaining?
A fascinating delve into how the US energy system can't be miraculously electrified without oil, nuclear and coal. Green Energy is an oxymoron!
I have full electrical registration in Aotearoa New Zealand and have a High Voltage Switching and Protection Certification from the London Electricity Board, so have some grasp, on the challenge!
As transmission lines warm up via either current flow/load and or sunlight/ambient heat on the conductors the resistance of the cables increases, as do the losses. This also dumps increased latent heat into the atmosphere!
The energy consumption from Artificial Intelligence is enormous, to the point that Bill Gates wants to restart the damaged reactor site at Three Mile Island to run his server farms. It's stereotypical "Disruptive Technology".
Gail Tverberg has recently debunked the speculation that advanced modular reactors will come to the rescue in an article titled "Nuclear electricity generation has hidden problems; don’t expect advanced modular units to solve them."
I've also added this analysis to a previous collaboration between Guy and Niall titled: "The Carbon Pulse and its Planetary and Atmospheric Implications."

Thanks so much. And more please!
