Last year we had an invasion of Argentine ants on Rakino Island, we were fortunate to discover them early and have managed to eradicate them with enormous efforts from the Auckland Council Biosecurity team. I've dealt with that great team over a plague skink invasion and maintaining our rodent free status on our Motu. It's incredible how many resources they dedicate to us, but it reflects how destabilising an invasive species can be!
